Hoi An is an old town, located at downstream ofThu Bon River in Quang Nam Province, 150km from Hue city. The ancient town is a famous tourist city with a common name "Hoi An ancient town." Coming to Hoi An, you will be attracted by traditional architecture and monuments such as Fujian assembly hall, Cantonese assembly hall, Japanese Bridge, Phung Hung old house and Tan Ky ancient house


Japanese covered bridge

  The bridge was structured by Japanese merchants in the 16th century. under the affect of the natural disaster, the covered bridge was restored many times and losing the Japanese architectural elements, replaced to that is Vietnamese style.

In the middle of the bridge, there is a small temple called dedicated to "Bac De Tran Vu"- The god of weather. The Covered Bridge was built to control a monster in a legend of Hoi An ancient town The sea monster whose head is in India, Its tail is in Japan and Body in Viet Nam. causes floods in Viet Nam, earthquakes in Japan and typhoon in IndiaWhenever it moves. So, in addition to build a bridge to serve traffic, the ancients bridge also keep peaceful life.

Bridge is an invaluable asset, and has been selected as the official symbol of Hoi An.

 Tan Ky ancient house (101 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An)

Built over 200 years ago, Tan Ky ancient house has tubular style - a traditional style in Hoi An ancient town. the interior is divided into many parts, and each one has its own function. The front is a place for open trade and the back is the place of entry of goods. Material home furnishing mostly of valuable wood and chisel, very finely sculpted with symbols of fruit, berries, eight weapons, silk ... showing-off of the world its owners. In February 17, 1990, Tan Ky ancient house was listed as a historical - cultural nation.

  Phung Hung old house (04. Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, Hoi An)

With more than 100-years old, Phung Hung old house nicely structured with high wooden attic and wide corridors around. Cantonese hall was built by Overseas Chinese in 1885. Initially used to worship Thien Hau Thanh Mau and Confucius, and later in 1911 to worship Quan Cong and their ancestors.
 Every year, on Nguyen Tieu (lunar January 15), Soul Guan Gong (lunar calendar June 24) take place a big festival here with solemnity, attracted many participants.
